Abdelkader is a programme management officer at UNEP based in Nairobi. He manages landscape approach activities, the dryland activities, implementation of the United Nations Environment Assembly resolutions on Sustainable pastoralism and soil pollution. He is the focal point for the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Also, he is the focal point for the Collaborative Partnership for Forests (CPF), the African Restoration Initiative (AFR100), the international Land Coalition (ILC) and the Global partnership for forests restoration (GPFLR). Abdelkader has more than 25 years’ experiences leading and advising on biodiversity conservation, protected areas management and forests conservations. Before joining UN Environment, he served with UNOPS, UNDP, World Bank and NGOs. He has an extensive work experiences in Middle East, North and West Africa.
